TCI Release and Discharge Paths

Trumbull Correctional Institution is an Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction men's state prison in Leavittsburg. Its population is not part of the county jail roster merely because the institution stands in Trumbull County. People confined at TCI may have been committed by courts across Ohio. The ODRC County of Commitment field refers to the sentencing county, not the prison's location or a person's later residence.

A person may leave TCI through parole, post-release control, judicial release, transitional control, transfer to another institution, or final discharge. 3. Open the record and read Current Status, institution, admission date, sentence, jail-time credit, and each release-related field together.
4. If the status is APA Supervision, inspect supervision start, period, POA or PRD date, residential county or ZIP, and APA office.
5. If a Board date or result appears, distinguish the scheduled hearing month from the latest result. Eligibility does not equal approval.
6. Use the docket or request public ODRC records when the release cause, terms, or chronology needs more support.

A Released status confirms a prior ODRC departure. It does not prove the person is free from every other agency or identify a present location. APA Supervision is stronger evidence that the person left prison under departmental supervision. Violator At Large confirms a prior supervised release plus an unresolved absconder status, not an ordinary release. Incarcerated indicates state custody, though the current institution may differ from TCI.

The research did not verify a stable facility street address, direct public phone number, or public hours suitable for publication here. Use the official directory rather than an older listing. For a release or discharge record, address the request to ODRC Central Records and identify the offender by full name and ODRC number.

Ask for existing data that shows the date, cause, and terms of discharge; release or supervision history by date and type; the sentencing entry; and a public Parole Board determination, order, or minutes tied to a known hearing. A releasable offender photograph may also be requested. OAC 5120-9-49 provides inspection without charge and copies at actual cost for public records. TCI Discharge Evidence

Ohio law gives state discharge records a defined core. TCI Expected Release Dates

The public label Expected Release Date/Parole Eligibility Date is not a promise. Sentence type determines what it may mean. On one term it can function as a projected date after recorded adjustments. On another it may be only the threshold for parole review. Qualifying indefinite sentences can involve a presumptive release point and a hearing process that permits continued confinement up to the maximum term. Judicial action, earned credit, jail-time credit, Board action, transitional control, violations, and recalculation can change the practical date.

Do not subtract a fixed percentage from a sentence. Current Ohio earned-credit law has eligibility rules, exclusions, monthly provisional awards, administrative review, and different forms of program credit. Jail-time credit is a separate calculation. A transfer stays inside custody even if the institution field changes.

Check for successor custody before describing the event. An old ODRC Released entry can coexist with a newer county booking or another agency's detention.
